RECOGNIZING OUR PARTNERS & SPONSORS PANEL & SPEAKER BACKGROUND: CIO PANELISTBen GrahamAssistant General Manager and CIOMARTA Ben Graham is the Assistant General Manager and Chief Information Officer for MARTA, a position he has held since 2006. He is responsible for enterprise-wide technology strategy, network infrastructure and operations, enterprise applications, technology-related governance, security, compliance and program management initiatives and activities. Graham has more than 20 years of demonstrated leadership experience in building data and telecom networks, as well as guiding technology operations and initiatives across large-scale, complex organizations. As an accomplished strategist and team builder, his vision and expertise in data and telecom networks has driven notable enterprise growth in wireless, optical and voice over IP networks within the transportation and public sectors. Ben Graham’s early technology experience encompasses twenty-plus years of service in the United States Marine Corps, where, as a Chief Warrant Officer, he installed one of the first networks that reduced the total cost of ownership for communications globally. Ben has held several technology positions with increased responsibility and leadership roles throughout his career. Offering a rare blend of creative and operational strengths, Graham has achieved tremendous success in turning around troubled data and telecom networks. His strategic approach to building solid data and telecom networks is widely recognized, and has led to notable success in providing unwavering and robust networks. At MARTA, he designed the Dense Wave Division Multiplex (DWDM) Network that has supported the Authority for the past five years. The scalability of this network is designed for long-term sustainability. He is also known for his aptitude to rapidly identify and diagnose connectivity impediments that include providing constructive solutions that encourage affirmative business growth. Ben has given numerous technology lectures and training throughout his career and led the first Sprint Wireless Café in Seattle, Washington. Ben Graham was a finalist in the Georgia CIO of the Year Award in 2008. Graham holds a Master of Science degree and a Bachelor of Science degree from Shorter College in Atlanta, Georgia. Kathy Lamb is Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Ames Taping Tool Systems, Inc., a privately-held company servicing the drywall finishing trade through more than 200 locations across the United States and Canada. In her current role, Ms. Lamb is responsible for all aspects of Ames’s information technology including IT strategy, business continuity, network and systems infrastructure, and IT operations. Ms. Lamb has had a uniquely diverse career spanning more than 30 years, including management positions in the financial services, technology and manufacturing industries. She has extensive experience in operations management, product management, professional services, and project management. She has also led a number of operational integration initiatives related to mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Ames Tools, Ms. Lamb was President of Three-Nineteen, Inc., a business and technology consulting company that provided services to mid-market companies and small businesses. Ms. Lamb has also worked for CheckFree Corporation, BankSouth Corporation (now Bank of America), C&S National Bank and Babcock and Wilcox (now Thermal Ceramics). Ms. Lamb currently serves on the board of Global EXEC Women. She has also has served on the Board of Directors for the Georgia State University Alumni Association and has volunteered at the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Ms. Lamb was a finalist for the 2008 CIO of the Year Award sponsored by the Georgia CIO Leadership Association. In 2006, she was one of eight Roundtable Speakers at Emory University’s Undergraduate Business School Leadership Conference on Values-based Leadership. Ms. Lamb is a graduate of Georgia State University’s Executive MBA Program, where she earned a 4.0 GPA and received the George P. Malanos Award for Academic Achievement. CIO PANELISTBjarke OrmstrupDirector, ITPBD Bjarke Ormstrup is responsible for the information technology infrastructure that supports the PBD staff and its clients. Bjarke''s primary role is to maximize the utilization of the company''s significant technology investment using AS/400, J.D. Edwards and ecommerce platforms. Bjarke has more than 15 years of global experience within information technology, supply chain management and business process improvement. Bjarke holds a Masters of Industrial Engineering from a Danish University as well as a Masters of Business Administration from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. CIO PANELISTBarb KunkelCIOTroutman Sanders Barb is Chief Information Officer at Troutman Sanders LLP with over twenty-five years of IT leadership, including more than a decade in a premier law firm. She is recipient of the 2005 Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leaders Award and 2001 Information Technology Women of the Year Award presented by the Women’s Council of the Greater Rochester Metro Chamber-of-Commerce. Prior to Troutman Sanders, Barb worked for Nixon Peabody for twelve years as CIO and for the Eastman Kodak Company for twelve years as a programmer, senior systems analyst, and software development manager. Barb also spent one year at the Rochester Telephone Company as an applications development supervisor for one of their subsidiary start up companies. Continuous education is a very high priority for Barb. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Bowling Green State University (in Bowling Green, Ohio), earned her M.B.A. degree at the University of Rochester''s Simon School, and is currently working on her Doctorate in Business Administration (D.B.A.) at the University of Phoenix.
