| Description | Green Building: The Nuts & Bolts for Contractors Green buildings are designed and constructed to minimize their impact on the environment while providing a comfortable and efficient structure for occupants. Many of these green buildings are being built to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards. Site supervisors, managers and foremen in the construction industry need to know how to direct the application and implementation of LEED concepts and technologies on the construction site and in the office. This workshop is designed to educate the construction community about green building procedures and strategies, the LEED rating system and the requirements that need to be met in order to achieve a certified structure. Important topics to be covered in this workshop include: Ø Why green building is important - market forces, economics, and incentives Ø The green building team and the contractors'' role in the following: Sustainable site construction methods Considerations of energy and water efficiency Building commissioning Construction waste management Procurement and documentation of green building materials Construction for good indoor air quality Document for LEED credits Guest Speaker Frank Falsetti, LEED AP Business Development Associate, Hunzinger Construction Company Frank has led the business development efforts for Hunzinger Construction Company''s Tenany Improvement Division for the past five years. In addition to his experience in commerical interiors, commerical real estate and construction, Frank has over 21 years of commerical office furniture experience. Frank has a Business Administration degree from Marquette University and is a current member of the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) and the WI Green Building Alliance (WGBA) Commerical Real Estate Committee. He has co-authored two LEED case studios in the Journal of Green Building for both the LEED-CI Platinum Hunzinger Construction University and the LEED-CI Gold Hunzinger Construction Corporate Headquarters projects. Frank is a member of Hunzinger''s Sustainable Roadshow Team, which has given over 60 presentations on susstainability and LEED in the commerical construction industry. He has given presentations at the WGBA''s SE2 Conference, Associated General Contractors Association of WI, and most recently presented "Practical Legal and Business Considerations Under LEED" for the Milwaukee Bar Association. David Dell''Agnese, AIA, LEED AP Project Manager, Hunzinger Construction Company David has a Master of Architecture Degree from The University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee and has been a licensed Architect in the State of Wisconsin for over 21 years. He was previously employed at Eppstein Uhen Architects in Milwaukee, WI. For the past seven years, David has worked for Hunzinger Construction Company as a Project Manager overseeing numerous new construction and tenant improvement projects. David most recently has been working at the Johnson Controls Global Headquarters Expansion project in Glendale, WI, which is attempting to achieve LEED Platinum Certification for each of the campus'' five buildings. He is currently coordinating the onsite education, training and documentation of the subcontractors and crafstmen for the USGBC LEED submission.
