Going Green? ~We Always Have Been~ You’ve seen it on the news! You’ve heard it on commercials! It’s the latest and greatest trend! It seems that all around us, we can find information about how to “Go Green”. But we, as 4-Hers, always have been! Join us for the 2009 Arkansas 4-H Alumni Day, Saturday, August 1. Our theme this year will be “Going Green? We Always Have Been!” We will celebrate not only the fact that green is our “signature color” but also that we, as an organization, have been good stewards of the Earth. From conservation and smart gardening techniques to recycling and clean-ups and everything in between, our members have long known the importance of protecting the environment. At Alumni Day you will hear more about how the association “Reuses” & “Recycles” former members by getting them involved in supporting the current 4-H programs throughout the state. We will recognize our Raymond C. Cox Scholarship Recipients and Innovate Grant Winners as well as outline other programs of support. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. A get re-acquainted time will proceed the program, which includes lunch. A complimentary, supervised nursery/playroom will be available adjacent to the meeting room with plenty of toys and fun activities. As is tradition, we will hold our Silent Auction and would like your help. Everyone is encouraged to bring items that are unique to or indicative of your area of the state. Take a look in your attic and basement for those unusual treasures, as well.
