| Description | Sacramento Sustainability Forum is a monthly venue for connecting businesses, non-profits, government and interested citizens in the Sacramento region in order to promote sustainability, share insights and resources, and support movement towards a more sustainable future. August 20th: David Mogavero, Senior Principal at Mogavero Notestine Associates David Mogavero is the Senior Principal of Mogavero Notestine Associates, a 22-person architecture, urban planning and development firm in Sacramento, California. He began his career designing naturally heated and cooled buildings thirty years ago. His practice now embraces the full range of progressive community design, such as high density mixed use urban infill and holistic building systems, including daylighting, natural ventilation, passive heating and cooling, orientation, solar shading and water recycling. His roles as developer and environmental advocate help him conceive projects that are economically viable and sensitive to the community and the environment. Through his professional practice, his writings and lectures, and as President and board member of the Environmental Council of Sacramento and board member of The Planning and Conservation League, he has promoted the widespread adoption of sustainable building and smart growth practices and policies. September 17th: Cecilia Jensen, Sustainability Program Manager for Sacramento County October 15th: Graham Brownstein, Executive Director for the Environmental Council of Sacramento (ECOS) November 19th: Panama Bartholomy, Advisor to the Chair of the CA Energy Commission About the Format Includes a half hour of open networking with drinks available at the bar Each month the forum hosts a speaker from the business, non-profit, or government sector to discuss sustainability efforts, challenges, perspectives, and victories Following our speaker, participants break into circles to discuss challenges, successes, and resources in the areas of government, non-profit work, and business The final portion of the evening brings summaries and requests for support to the whole group Goals: 1.
